Atlantic Seafood & Dim Sum Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Atlantic Seafood & Dim Sum is a true old-school Cantonese dim sum restaurant that locals keep coming back to. Located in Monterey Park, this place gets busy early. White porcelain teapots on the table, carts rolling around, and the smell of freshly steamed dim sum — you know you’re in the right place. Highly recommend: • Har Gow: thin skin, juicy and snappy shrimp • Soup Dumplings: plenty of broth, light and clean tasting • Chicken Feet & Steamed Pork Ribs: well-seasoned but not overly salty • Rice Noodle Rolls (Cheung Fun): great rice fragrance, sauce doesn’t overpower • Pan-fried dumplings & fried items: crispy but not greasy The congee was especially refreshing — comforting, clean, and perfect after a full table of dim sum. The crowd says it all: mostly Cantonese families, older locals, and multi-generation tables. That’s always a good sign — this is a neighborhood staple, not a trendy photo stop. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely come back again!
Lobster noodle special $16.99 is only available with minimum purchase $20 or more also the noodle and sides additional, $26 roasted duck has a minimum of 3 main course purchase and only available evening. The tea taste was very generic, charged my 10yrs old tea count(told me all tea count over 4yrs old), old school dim sum cart is authentic and give it a thumbs up because a lot of restaurants are no longer doing dim sum carts no more. Haven’t tried other seafood yet, but the noodle with lobster was too small and over fried, that’s what you may get for a special I guess. Total gross charge of $60-$6tax-$6tea count= $48 net with 4 dim sum flat fee of $5 plus a lobster noodle for 4 people sounds very fair. Only need to improve the food and tea quality bit more toward a higher end quality seafood restaurant with more attractive pricing.
Lobster, Duck specials with minimum order of $25 order or more. Great food and value. Super busy on Monday evening. Great place upstairs. Highly recommend.
Monterey Park understood the assignment If you’re craving fresh seafood + real Cantonese flavors, Atlantic Seafood and Dim Sum is the move right now. We went ALL IN and honestly… zero regrets: Live Shrimp with Salted Egg — rich, savory, and dangerously addictive Live Lobster Special ($16.99 EVERYDAY) — yes, you read that right Whole Peking Duck carved tableside — crispy skin moment hits different Minced Squab Lettuce Wraps — flavorful, light, and perfect balance Sautéed String Beans — simple, smoky, and done exactly right Classic Cantonese cooking, fresh tanks, big portions, and that old-school seafood house energy that never misses.
I really enjoyed this restaurant.. Not too many places have the cart that they push around. It's a Hong Kong tradition that you don't order food from a piece of paper. You go to the cart and order food. It's a nostalgia for me... The price is reasonable and there's parking. The food is not amazing, but who cares. I come here for the environment. Come here to enjoy your food! I will be back next time I'm in LA.
This place has been open for over a decade, and back in school days I often came to Monterey Park for morning tea. The restaurants here always feel so classic and authentic. The fact that they still keep the roaming dim sum cart service makes me love it even more! These days many places just have you check off what you want and bring it straight out, but that takes away a bit of the vibe haha. Dim Sum Starting with the essentials: BBQ pork buns, siu mai, chicken feet, rice rolls, lava custard buns, turnip cakes, spare ribs, and century egg congee. The turnip cake was extra fun—they fry it right on the pan and serve it sizzling hot, so fragrant! The lava buns were amazing too, a little poke and the custard just flows out. Special Lobster They have quite a few special deals, like Peking duck, live crab, and lobster. The lobster this time was a promo—order $20 worth and add it for $16.99. Honestly a great deal since the lobster was pretty big. We got the garlic style and the meat was juicy and firm. Next time with more people, I’ll definitely try the other specials. Shantou Pao Fan (泡饭) I had to order this when I saw the name! I love pao fan, and this one was loaded with seafood. Every bite reminded me how creative Cantonese food can be—soft yet springy rice with a broth that’s so fresh. As they say, Chaoshan people can’t live without pao fan! If I lived nearby, I’d probably be coming here just to take this home often. BBQ Meats We got a combo of crispy pork belly and roast duck. The pork belly had that perfect crackling crunch with juicy layers of fat and lean, not greasy at all. The roast duck skin was smoky and fragrant, the meat nice and firm. My kid loved it so much he said if I didn’t give him more, he’d just chew on the bones again. Chaozhou Beef Chow Fun Also a lunch special, and the portion was huge—I packed it home and had two more meals with it. Nicely stir-fried with plenty of beef and shrimp, very homey flavors. Not sure if they renovated recently, but the space feels quite big and airy. They even have banquet rooms for weddings and karaoke. I once attended a Cantonese friend’s wedding here
I’d only been to Golden Harvest for dim sum before, but this was my first time coming for dinner — and it was such a pleasant surprise! They’re running amazing specials right now: Whole Lobster for $16.99 and Peking Duck for $26.99 (available when you order any three regular dishes). The ginger scallion lobster was fresh, tender, and full of wok aroma. The Peking duck was carved tableside — golden crispy skin, juicy meat, and instead of wraps, they serve it with cute shell-shaped buns, which was so unique and tasty! We also ordered the French-style beef cubes, Hainan chicken, and braised beef shank — every dish was flavorful and well-seasoned. The best part? Dinner for four, including a whole lobster and a whole duck, came to around $150 total. Incredible value and delicious Cantonese food — definitely a spot worth revisiting!
This dim sum seafood restaurant makes me felt like home. The still use the cart to carry out dim sum and go to your table. The lobster deal is really worth it and it’s must order dish. Like all other Cantonese restaurant, the service was fast. They were pretty busy around noon and it’s suggested to come early. Great place to hang with friends and tries different dim sum.
